1973
The Management Zentrum St. Gallen starts its operation as a foundation at the University of St. Gallen for advancing the St.Galler Management Model and the systems oriented management doctrine and for making it accessible to the public. Former foundation board: Prof. Dr. Hans Ulrich (President), Prof. Dr. Hans Siegwart (Vice President), Hans Lüthi (President and Deputy of IBM, Switzerland), Dr. Hans Ramsler (Financial director Gebr. Bühler, Uzwil).
1976
Entry of Dr. Fredmund Malik as project manager.
1977
Prof. Dr. Fredmund Malik is appointed director of the Management Zentrum St. Gallen.
1977 - 1983
Collaboration with the institute for business administration (IfB) of University St. Gallen. Management Zentrum St. Gallen is responsible for management education, based upon the St.Galler Management Model, and the IfB is responsible for consulting tasks and classical education.
1979
Prof. Dr. Fredmund Malik is elected to the management of the institute of business administration at University St.Gallen. Next to his lead of the Management Zentrum St.Gallen he also takes over the lead of the management consultancy department of the institute.
1984
Friendly management buy-out, initiated and instructed by the foundation board leads to the change of corporate form of the foundation to Management Zentrum St. Gallen Ltd., which is launched for the purpose of advancing, developing and applying the findings of the systems oriented management doctrine within the practical field. The newly founded company takes over the operational business of the foundation. A new foundation is arranged by means of the returns of the formation of the company. The purpose of the new foundation (the foundation of the development of the systems oriented management doctrine) is the development of the originally set purpose of the foundation.
1985
Start of an exclusive collaboration in the field of strategic planning with the Strategic Planning Institute Boston (SPI) and PIMS® Europe Ltd. (Profit Impact of Market Strategy) in London.
1986
Prof. Dr. Fredmund Malik is newly elected to the foundation board for the development of the systems oriented management doctrine.
1993
Prof. Dr. Fredmund Malik starts with the publication of the monthly management letters M.o.M. Malik on Management®. In a little while, these letters become the most often read publications for entrepreneurs and managers in business, politics and society.
1997
Opening of Management Zentrum St.Gallen in Vienna.
1999
Participation in Team Syntegrity International (TSI) in Toronto, Canada, a company, which was established by Prof. Stafford Beer.
2000
Joint foundation of the CII - Cwarel Isaf Institute by Prof. Dr. Dr. hc. Stafford Beer and Prof. Dr. Fredmund Malik for the means of a systematic development and application of Cybernetics within the field of Management. The CII holds all rights to the work of Prof. Dr. Dr. hc. Stafford Beer.
2001
Takeover of all rights of the work of Aloïs Gälweiler by the Management Zentrum St. Gallen.
2002
Cooperation with Prof. Dr. Dr. hc. Frederic Vester. The Management Zentrum St. Gallen, under the direction of Prof. Dr. Fredmund Malik, and the study group for biology and environment, under the direction of Prof. Dr. Dr. hc. Frederic Vester, are from now on working closely together. In the centre of this cooperation, there is the integration of the Sensitivity Model Prof. Vester® with the General Management-Expertise of the Management Zentrum St. Gallen.
2004
Change of name of the corporate group into Malik Management Zentrum St.Gallen.
100% takeover of PIMS® Europe Ltd. after a very long and close cooperation. Thereby, Malik Management Zentrum St. Gallen is also represented in London by November 1st 2004.
2005
Cooperation with the Genfer Institut für Markentechnik (IFMT). Completely new form of the integrated management and brand consultancy by the merger of the General Management expertise of Malik Management Zentrum St.Gallen with the knowledge of IFMT to a strategic and operative brand management.
After the passing of Prof. Frederic Vester, Malik Management Zentrum St. Gallen takes over all activities aligned with all products and rights of frederic vester GmbH by December 1st 2005.
Start of the Malik Management-Bionics Initiative: first congress of bionics for the top management and formation of MCB Publishing House.
2006
Formation of the international bionic center “Internationales Bionik Zentrum “(IBZ) for advancing the discipline of bionics.
Opening of Malik Management Shanghai.
2007
Formation of Malik 21st Century Foundation for Advanced Management and Governance in Hong Kong with the purpose of advancing wholistic management in China.
Opening of Malik Management Berlin.
2008
Takeover of all rights of the Energo-Cybernetic Strategy “Engpasskonzentrierten Verhaltens- und Führungsstrategie EKS®” developed by Prof. Wolfgang Mewes by Malik Management.
